Dr. Saraswati Dayal attended medical school at Howard University in Washington DC. She graduated as the valedictorian of her class. She completed her residency and fellowship in General Surgery/Trauma and Critical Care at University Hospital in Newark, New Jersey.
Dr. Dayal is affiliated with multiple hospitals across North Jersey including Hackensack University Medical Center (Hackensack, NJ), The Valley Hospital (Ridgewood, NJ), Hackensack Meridian Health Pascack Valley Medical Center (Westwood, NJ), Englewood Health (Englewood, NJ), Holy Name Medical Center (Teaneck, NJ), St. Mary’s General Hospital (Passaic, NJ), and Mountainside Medical Center (Montclair, NJ).
Dr. Dayal has served as attending trauma surgeon and the Director of 3N, Surgical Stepdown Unit of Hackensack University Medical Center. She has served as a physician advisor for multiple hospitals. She is an ATLS director, wound care director at Select Specialty in Rochelle Park and Kindred Hospital in Passaic.
Dr. Dayal wanted to be a physician her whole life because she wanted to make a significant difference in people’s lives. Dr. Dayal didn’t just want to treat patients, she wanted to cure them, surgically. Dr. Dayal chose general surgery/trauma because she enjoyed the idea of thinking on her feet in high pressure situations and making decisions that would help the patient to the fullest extent. She specializes in general surgery/trauma and is now certified in robotic general surgery. Her other areas of expertise include all types of wounds ranging from burns, arterial, venous, to pressure wounds. Dr. Dayal offers general surgery, burn surgery, wound care, as well as cosmetic injections.
